5 things to do in Dubai this week, 2 to 8 November
Free design at d3, two very different nights at Dubai Opera, Amr Diab at Coca-Cola Arena and a Diwali festival on the Creek.
The weather has turned and the week is full. Here are five things worth planning around between Monday 2 and Sunday 8 November, from free design shows to a big arena night. Prices are the lowest the ticket pages showed and can change.
Dubai Design Week
The festival opens at Dubai Design District (d3) on Tuesday 3 November and runs until Sunday 8 November. The programme is free to visit: five Abwab pavilions on the theme of language, a garden pavilion by Dubai studio NAO Architects, installations, talks and workshops, and a Marketplace at the weekend.
Queen of the Night
A tribute to Whitney Houston comes to Dubai Opera on Friday 6 November, presented by Dubai Opera with MAC Global. The show, which has toured the UK, runs through her best-known songs with a live band and singers. Tickets start from Dh290.
Amr Diab
The Egyptian star plays Coca-Cola Arena at City Walk on Saturday 7 November at 9pm, mixing his 2025 releases with older classics. Tickets start from Dh245. Children under 14 cannot go on the standing floor, and under 16s need an adult with them.
Ministry of Sound Classical
Also on Saturday 7 November, at 8pm, Dubai Opera hands its stage to dance music. A 31-piece orchestra with singers plays club anthems from the 1990s onwards, including Sandstorm, Insomnia and Right Here, Right Now, for about 2 hours 20 minutes without an interval. Tickets start from Dh350; children under 6 are not allowed in.
Noor
Festival of Lights: The third edition of this Diwali festival fills Souk Al Seef on Dubai Creek on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November with processions, dance, storytelling and live music. Entry is by online registration on the festival's website, so sign up before you go.
