Abu Dhabi's first outdoor Children's Biennale opens at Umm Al Emarat Park on 6 November

Abu Dhabi Festival's Children's Biennale fills Umm Al Emarat Park with art children can touch, hear and move through, free, from 6 November to 6 December.

Umm Al Emarat Park, 15th Street, Al Mushrif, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Festival is opening what it calls the Middle East's first outdoor children's biennale at Umm Al Emarat Park, from 6 November to 6 December. Under the theme "How the World Feels", the works are made to be explored through touch, sound, movement and light. The festival lists entry as free.

Curated by Dana Almazrouei, the show is made with National Gallery Singapore and brings together nine artists, among them Emirati artists Alia AlShamsi, Moza Almatrooshi, Moza Almazrouei and Meera Almazrooei, and Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho, whose Memories of Fireflies is a lantern installation built as a meeting place. Hana El-Sagini's Common Thread, Common Ground is a rope sculpture visitors can braid and reshape.

Artist-led family workshops run from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on 6, 7, 13 and 14 November, from rock weaving and clay creatures to lantern making and listening to nature, and schools can book morning guided tours. The park is on 15th Street in Al Mushrif, Abu Dhabi. Check the Abu Dhabi Festival website before you go to register and to see which workshop runs on which night.
