Mall of the Emirates to open The Hangout, with games, bowling and 18 food spots

Majid Al Futtaim announced on 1 October a new entertainment and dining area at Mall of the Emirates called The Hangout. It is part of the mall's Dh5 billion redevelopment and will open in phases, tbreak reports.

First is Activate, due in October 2026: an active gaming venue with 12 light-up rooms and more than 50 challenges for ages six and up. SOCO follows in the last quarter of 2026 with bowling, simulators, augmented-reality darts, karaoke and private rooms across 2,700 square metres. Explorers, a 2,500 square metre play attraction for children aged one to 12, is planned for the first quarter of 2027, and a redesigned Magic Planet is due later in 2027.

There will be 18 places to eat: 12 restaurants, four kiosks and two inside the entertainment venues. Names announced so far include Fatt Pundit, Crunch, Apollo, Asma, Junk Smash Burger, Public Pizzeria, Crystal Jade Noodle Bar and Feels. An outdoor courtyard will open in the cooler months.

Ticket prices, booking details and exact opening days have not been announced.
