Tapasake reopens on 12 November at One Za'abeel, with a new Sky Lounge
The Japanese and Mediterranean restaurant on the 27th floor of One&Only One Za'abeel reopens on 12 November, adding a Sky Lounge for sunset drinks, with an infinity pool still to come.
Tapasake, the restaurant high up in The Link at One&Only One Za'abeel, reopens on Thursday 12 November. The restaurant's own website gives the date, and What's On reports that it returns after an 18-month break. It comes back with more than a dining room: a new Sky Lounge for cocktails and music from sunset, and an infinity pool that the venue lists as coming soon.
The kitchen keeps the idea Tapasake was known for, a mix of Japanese precision and Mediterranean flavour, served as plates for the table. The restaurant sits on the 27th floor of One&Only One Za'abeel, inside The Link, the horizontal section that joins the two towers above Za'abeel and looks straight down Sheikh Zayed Road towards Downtown and the Burj Khalifa. The Sky Lounge is set up for the view, with drinks and a soundtrack running from sunset into the evening.
The venue has already published its first season of events. A festive lunch costs Dh240 and a festive dinner Dh425, and a Christmas Day brunch runs from Dh525 to Dh725 depending on the package. A late night event called Tapasake Wave is set for 17 December, built around the 180-degree view of the city. The venue has not yet given daily opening hours or a date for the pool.
Tapasake is one of several big hotel restaurants coming back for the cooler months. November is the busiest month for openings in Dubai, as beach clubs, rooftops and terraces return once evenings drop below 30 degrees, and One Za'abeel has become one of the city's main dining addresses since the hotel opened.
Bookings are taken through Tapasake's page on SevenRooms, linked from the restaurant's website, by phone on +971 50 707 2428 or by email at reservations.dubai@tapasake.com. The address is One&Only One Za'abeel, 27th floor, in Za'abeel; the hotel is next to the World Trade Centre metro area and reached from Sheikh Zayed Road. Opening hours and menus are not out yet, so check the website before you go, and book ahead for a window table on the first weekends.
