UAE petrol is 24 fils a litre cheaper in November; Special 95 is Dh4.04
The UAE fuel price committee cut all three petrol grades by 24 fils a litre for November, and diesel by 5 fils, after two months of rises.
Filling up gets a little cheaper from Sunday. The UAE fuel price committee announced on Saturday 31 October that all three grades of petrol will cost 24 fils a litre less in November than in October, and diesel 5 fils less.
The new prices are Dh4.16 a litre for Super 98, down from Dh4.40; Dh4.04 for Special 95, down from Dh4.28; and Dh3.97 for E-Plus 91, down from Dh4.21. Diesel falls from Dh4.80 to Dh4.75 a litre. The prices apply at stations across the country for the whole of November.
The cut follows two sharp increases. In September Super 98 cost Dh3.80 a litre and Special 95 Dh3.69; October's prices then jumped by 60 fils a litre on every petrol grade. November gives back part of that rise, but petrol is still well above where it was at the end of the summer, and diesel, at Dh4.75, remains dearer than any grade of petrol. The committee sets prices at the end of each month to follow global fuel rates, so December's will be announced at the end of November.
For a typical family car, the saving is easy to work out. A 60-litre tank of Special 95 cost Dh256.80 in October and costs Dh242.40 in November, Dh14.40 less per fill. With Super 98 the same tank comes down from Dh264 to Dh249.60. Someone who fills up once a week will save about Dh58 over the month on Special 95. Diesel drivers, including most delivery vans, pickups and trucks, see only a small change: Dh3 less on a 60-litre tank.
The prices take effect on Sunday 1 November, so if your tank can wait one more day, fill up tomorrow. Taxi and ride-hailing fares in Dubai are linked to fuel costs and are reviewed by the RTA; no change to them has been announced. The same prices apply at every station brand in the UAE.
