Wasla, a new one-night music festival, takes over Jubilee Park at Expo City Dubai on Saturday 28 November. Four acts share one stage: the Lebanese composer and oud player Marcel Khalife; Le Trio Joubran, the Palestinian brothers who play three ouds together; TootArd, a duo from the Golan Heights mixing desert blues, reggae and retro Arabic pop; and the singer Fatima, who blends R&B, jazz and Middle Eastern sounds.
The organisers say this year's festival supports UNHCR, the UN refugee agency, and its work giving displaced families shelter, healthcare and schooling.
Gates open at 4.30pm according to the ticket page. Tickets are on Platinumlist from Dh350 to Dh750, and the event is open to all ages. Jubilee Park is an outdoor venue, so it is a good evening for a light jacket as nights cool down in late November.
