5 Dubai hotel lounges for afternoon tea this autumn
Cooler afternoons suit a slow tea. Five hotel lounges across Dubai serve afternoon tea now, from a pink October edition in Downtown to the atrium of Burj Al Arab.
With the heat easing, afternoon tea is back on the weekend plan. We picked five hotel lounges in different parts of the city and checked each one on the hotel's own website. Prices are shown where the hotel lists them; the others give the price when you book.
Pink Afternoon Tea at Kempinski The Boulevard
the Lobby Lounge in Downtown Dubai serves its chest-of-drawers tea stand in a pink edition every day until 31 October, from 2.30pm to 6pm, for AED 300 for two. Bookings are by phone or email through the hotel.
Mosaico at Palazzo Versace
the lobby lounge in Al Jaddaf serves high tea daily from 10.30am to 7pm. It costs AED 380 for two, or AED 504 for the Celebration High Tea with Prosecco on the terrace.
Noor Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira
a light-filled lobby lounge with a terrace on Jumeirah Beach Road, open from 8am to midnight, serving afternoon tea with classic and Oriental teas. The price is given on booking.
Sahn Eddar at Burj Al Arab
the hotel's atrium lounge, whose Arabic name means the courtyard of the house, is set up for lunch or afternoon tea. Booking is through Jumeirah's website, and the price is shown there.
Sofitel Dubai The Palm
the hotel's afternoon tea is made by its executive pastry chef, with sweet and savoury treats, on the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah. Times and price are given on booking.
Hotel lounges often ask for a reservation at weekends, and prices can change, so check the hotel's page before you go.
