Burj2Burj half marathon is on 24 January, and the Dh310 entry ends on 2 November
Dubai's landmark-to-landmark 21.1km race returns with a new route from Coca-Cola Arena to Jumeirah Beach Road. Entry costs Dh310 until 2 November, then Dh350 while places last.
Burj2Burj, the half marathon that runs between two of Dubai's best-known towers, has set its 2027 race for Sunday 24 January, and runners who want the lower price have less than a week left. The current Dh310 entry closes on 2 November, according to the race's own website.
The race covers 21.1 kilometres. This edition has a new course: What's On reports that it starts at Coca-Cola Arena, passes Burj Khalifa and the Museum of the Future, then heads to the coast and follows Jumeirah Beach Road to a finish within sight of Burj Al Arab. Runners set off in batches, in start corrals, rather than all at once.
The event is young but has grown quickly. It began in 2024 with about 4,000 runners and had 16,000 in 2026, What's On reports. It is organised by World Iconic Events, with Dubai Sports Council among the partners shown on the race website. A race expo opens at Coca-Cola Arena on 21 January, three days before the start, with talks from coaches and experts, meetings with elite athletes and a shop. There is also a Mini Marathon for children aged 3 to 12, with parents allowed to run beside them and a medal for every finisher.
Prices have climbed in steps. The first general sale, at Dh260, ran from June to the end of August and is sold out. The late sale at Dh310 runs until 2 November. After that a last-minute sale at Dh350 is planned from 2 November to 3 January, but the website warns that places are capped and sales stop once the field is full, so that last round may never open. Entry includes a t-shirt, a race bib, a timing chip, drinks and support along the route, and a finisher's medal.
If you are thinking of running, enter on the race website, burj2burj.com, which links to the official entry page. First-time half marathon runners can follow a structured training plan that the organisers offer with their running ambassadors, and January leaves about 12 weeks to build up. The race falls in the middle of the UAE's cooler season, after the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which runs from 31 October to 29 November and is a free way to start training with its daily 30 minutes of activity.
