Casa Playa brings Latin plates and weekend DJs to Banyan Tree Dubai's beach
The new beachfront restaurant on Bluewaters mixes ceviche, tacos, Argentine-style grills and tapas, and is open every evening from 6pm to 10pm.
Casa Playa, a Latin-inspired restaurant on the sand at Banyan Tree Dubai on Bluewaters, is now open, with Ain Dubai rising behind it.
The menu is built for sharing and pulls from across Latin America and Spain: Peruvian-style ceviche, Mexican tacos, Argentine-style grills and Spanish tapas, with a focus on seafood. Dishes include The Pearl (sea bass ceviche, tuna tartare and oysters with tomatillo relish), Pulpo a la Brasa (charcoal-grilled octopus with smoked potato purée) and the Casa Playa Grand Catch, a platter of jumbo prawns, Canadian lobster and a whole butterflied sea bass. Dessert runs to cinnamon churros with dulce de leche and Tarta de Santiago.
DJs play Latin-inspired sets on Fridays and Saturdays; from Sunday to Thursday a quieter Latin soundtrack plays.
Casa Playa is open daily from 6pm to 10pm. Prices have not been published, and bookings are taken through Banyan Tree Dubai's website. Pick a Friday or Saturday for the DJs, or a weeknight for a calmer dinner by the water.
