Etihad Rail fares now vary by time and day, with some up by Dh69
Etihad Rail has confirmed that passenger fares change with the time, day and class of travel, so evening and weekend trains often cost more than the launch prices.
Etihad Rail has confirmed it uses variable pricing on its passenger routes. Some tickets now cost up to Dh69 more than when services started, mostly on afternoon, evening and weekend trains.
On the Abu Dhabi to Dubai route, which opened on 30 September, Comfort class now ranges from Dh39 to Dh59 and Premium from Dh109 to Dh149. On Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, which opened on 30 June, Comfort costs Dh55 to Dh79 and Premium Dh120 to Dh189. Trips from Al Dhaid station in Sharjah start at Dh19.
Etihad Rail said prices depend on the service, the time and date of the trip, the ticket class and category, and when the ticket is booked. Many journeys on both routes are already sold out in advance, and the operator added more than 2,000 seats on six extra Abu Dhabi to Dubai services last weekend.
Tickets are sold on the Etihad Rail app, its website and at station machines. New Al Dhafra stations are due to open on 30 November and 30 December.
