Frieze, the art fair brand behind Frieze London and Frieze Masters, holds its first Abu Dhabi edition at Manarat Al Saadiyat from 19 to 22 November, presented with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi. It takes the place of the Abu Dhabi Art fair.

The line-up has 84 galleries from 63 cities in 36 countries and regions, more than 60 of them in the main Galleries section. UAE names include Carbon 12, Lawrie Shabibi, The Third Line, Tabari Artspace and Iris Projects, next to international galleries such as Gagosian, Pace, Thaddaeus Ropac and Perrotin. There is also a Frieze Masters Abu Dhabi section from antiquity to the early 20th century, a talks programme over three days, and the first Frieze Abu Dhabi Artist Award, a new installation by Dala Nasser.

Outside the fair, Frieze Sculpture Abu Dhabi puts works by Zeinab Alhashemi, Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, Imran Qureshi and Kamran Samimi on Mamsha Beach on Saadiyat from 16 November to 16 December, a longer window for anyone who cannot make the fair days. Ticket prices have not been announced yet; Frieze will publish them on its website.
