Singer Hiba Tawaji and trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf will perform À la française at Dubai Opera on Friday 27 November, a one-night show presented by Live Nation Middle East. The programme sets Tawaji's voice against Maalouf's trumpet and compositions, drawing on French songs, jazz, chanson and classical music. Tawaji sings in Arabic, French and English.
Maalouf, a two-time Grammy nominee in 2023 and 2024, has won a César Award and has released more than 20 albums. Tawaji sang with the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra under Gustavo Dudamel at the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris in 2024, and played Esmeralda in the musical Notre Dame de Paris.
Tickets start at Dh355 on Platinumlist, with the show listed at 8.30pm and open to ages six and over. It is a single night, so book early if you want seats together. Dubai Opera is in Downtown Dubai, next to The Dubai Mall, and the closest Metro stop is Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.
