Max Amini returns to Dubai Opera on 22 December
The Iranian-American comedian brings his English stand-up show back to Dubai Opera on Tuesday 22 December, after selling out two nights there in March.
Max Amini is coming back to Dubai Opera. The Iranian-American stand-up comedian has added Dubai to his winter tour, with a show on Tuesday 22 December, and tickets are now on sale.
His tour page lists the Dubai date with a 7pm start, and all of his shows on this run are in English. The date was first offered to people who signed up on his website, before tickets went on general sale on Wednesday 4 November.
It is a quick return. Amini played Dubai Opera in March this year, and a second show was added on Monday 23 March after the first one sold out. Tickets for those nights started at Dh185. His December visit comes in the middle of a run of dates in the region and Europe: Cairo on 18 November, where he has added a seventh show after earlier nights sold out, Tirana at the end of November, Istanbul on 11 and 12 December and Amman on 18 December, before Germany and the Netherlands in January.
Amini's comedy leans on family life, immigrant parents and the gap between cultures, which explains why his shows in the Gulf and in Cairo sell quickly to mixed audiences of Iranian, Arab and Western fans. He tours widely in the United States as well, and his December US dates in Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale fall just before Dubai.
Dubai Opera has become a regular stop for stand-up this season. It is the 2,000-seat theatre at the foot of Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai, and it can be reached from the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro station, with paid parking at the Opera District.
Tickets are sold through Max Amini's own website and Dubai Opera's ticket partner. Prices for this show are not listed on his tour page, so check the seating plan before you choose. Given how fast the March nights went, book early if you want seats together, and check the ticket page for the exact start time and any age limit before you go. If the date sells out, his team has added extra shows in other cities on this tour.
