PlayStation Store in the UAE switches from dollars to dirhams

The PlayStation Store in the UAE is moving from US dollars to UAE dirhams. Sony's support page lists maintenance from 5 to 8 October 2026, during which the store was offline and purchases were not possible.

After the switch, prices, charges and receipts are shown in dirhams. Players do not need to change their accounts. Money already in a PlayStation wallet converts at 1 US dollar to 4 dirhams, rounded up. Existing US dollar gift cards stay valid and convert the same way when redeemed.

A few things need attention. Parents who set monthly spending limits on child accounts have to set them again. Subscriptions that came up for renewal during the maintenance continue, with payment taken afterwards, and Sony says the recurring price may differ slightly from the old dollar price. New purchases from PS3 consoles stop once the work is finished.

Sony has not published a list of new dirham prices for games, so check the store before buying.
