Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened the surface level intersection at Trade Centre, part of its project to rebuild the Trade Centre roundabout.

According to the RTA, turning the roundabout into a signalled intersection has doubled its capacity and cut the average delay from 12 minutes to 90 seconds.

Drivers coming from Sheikh Zayed Road can now move more easily towards 2nd December Street, and traffic from Al Mustaqbal Street can head south onto Sheikh Zayed Road. Vehicles from 2nd December Street can also continue freely onto Al Majlis Street, which leads to Al Mustaqbal Street, and traffic on Sheikh Rashid Street can carry on towards Deira.

The authority has not announced the dates of the remaining stages of the project in the reports seen so far.
