Toyota's first electric car in the UAE, the bZ4X Touring, costs Dh184,900
Al-Futtaim Motors and Toyota UAE have launched the bZ4X Touring, an all-wheel-drive electric SUV with a claimed 480km range, in one VXR grade.
Toyota now sells a fully electric car in the UAE. Al-Futtaim Motors and Toyota UAE have launched the bZ4X Touring, the brand's first battery-electric model sold officially in the country, in a single VXR all-wheel-drive grade priced at Dh184,900.
It has two electric motors with 375hp between them, a 74.7kWh battery and a claimed range of 480km, and Toyota quotes 0 to 100km/h in 4.5 seconds. It charges at up to 22kW on an AC wallbox and up to 150kW on a DC fast charger, and the boot holds 603 litres with the rear seats up. Inside is a 14-inch touchscreen and a wireless phone charger, and an X-MODE setting helps on sand and rough tracks.
The car is sold through Al-Futtaim's Toyota network. Warranty, battery cover and colours for the UAE were not in the launch details, so ask the showroom before you buy; Lexus, also sold by Al-Futtaim, launched its first electric models, the RZ500e and ES500e, a few days earlier.
