UAE weather: more chances of rain until Thursday, with up to 43°C inland
The National Centre of Meteorology expects clouds and some rain over eastern and western areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, and over eastern and southern areas on Thursday.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) says convective clouds may form over eastern, western and southern parts of the country from 12 to 16 October, sometimes reaching inland areas. Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 October bring more chances of rain over eastern and western areas, and on Thursday 15 October the clouds may bring showers to the east and south.
Rain fell on Monday west of Shawka and east of Mleiha in Sharjah, and hail was reported along the Al Watan to Hatta road.
Temperatures can still reach 43°C inland and 35°C to 40°C on the coast and islands. Winds are light to moderate, turning fresh to strong under the clouds, with gusts of up to 45 km/h in the mountains that can raise dust and cut visibility. Humidity rises at night and early in the morning, so fog or mist is likely in some areas.
If you drive early, allow extra time for fog and keep your distance. Heading to Hatta or the mountains this week? Check the NCM app or ncm.gov.ae before you set off, keep away from wadis when clouds build, and follow any alert the NCM issues.
