Al Dhaid Date Festival runs at Expo Al Dhaid until 11 October
The sixth Al Dhaid Date Festival in Sharjah is open daily from 9am to 9pm until Sunday, with date auctions every evening.
The sixth Al Dhaid Date Festival opened on Thursday 8 October at Expo Al Dhaid in Sharjah and runs until Sunday 11 October, from 9am to 9pm each day. It is organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Growers from across the UAE are taking part. Auctions of premium local date varieties are held every day after Maghrib prayers, and a market sells premium and everyday dates and other palm products.
The programme also includes workshops on modern farming, palm care and production quality, plus cultural and heritage activities. Al Dhaid is about an hour's drive from Dubai.
