Passengers on Etihad Rail can now walk between the train and the Dubai Metro. A pedestrian bridge of about 400 metres opens on Thursday 15 October, linking Al Yalayis railway station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line, according to an announcement on Etihad Rail's official Instagram account reported by Gulf News.

Until now, the two stations were linked by road only, through the RTA's F38 feeder bus, which runs from Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station to Dubai Production City and Dubai Sports City. Etihad Rail began passenger services on 30 September, with trains between Dubai and Abu Dhabi's Mohammed Bin Zayed City taking about an hour and Comfort Class tickets from Dh39.

If you take the train without a car, you can now ride the Red Line to Jumeirah Golf Estates and walk to your platform, or do the reverse when you arrive in Dubai. A nol day pass can be added when you book an Etihad Rail journey, which covers eligible Metro, tram and bus trips for the day. Allow time for the walk: Etihad Rail's ticket gates close two minutes before departure.
