Direct flights between Dubai and Germany, Switzerland and Austria are coming back over the next few weeks. The Lufthansa Group's winter schedule, last updated on 15 October, has Lufthansa restarting five flights a week from Munich on 25 October and up to five a week from Frankfurt on 26 October.

SWISS follows with a daily Zurich flight from 27 October, and Eurowings starts a daily Berlin service on 1 November. Austrian Airlines returns last, with five flights a week from Vienna from 12 December. At its busiest the group plans up to 28 flights a week to and from Dubai.

Eurowings has dropped the Stuttgart and Cologne/Bonn flights to Dubai it had planned for this winter. The group says short-notice changes to single routes may still happen because the situation in the region remains volatile.

If you are flying to Europe this winter, the restarted routes give more one-stop options through Munich, Frankfurt, Zurich and Vienna. Book on the airlines' own websites or apps, and check your flight status a day or two before you travel in case of a late schedule change.
