14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 starts at Dh8,499 in the UAE
Apple's updated 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip can be pre-ordered in the UAE from tonight and arrives on November 6.
Apple has moved its entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro to the new M6 chip, and UAE buyers can order it from tonight. Pre-orders open at 9.10pm UAE time on Wednesday, October 28, and the laptop goes on sale on Friday, November 6. On Apple's UAE online store the M6 model starts at Dh8,499 in silver or space black.
This is the 14-inch MacBook Pro that sits below the M5 Pro and M5 Max versions, and it is aimed at students, office users and creators who want a Pro screen and long battery life without paying for the top chips. The M6 inside has a 12-core processor and a 12-core graphics chip, two more cores each than the M5 model it replaces. Apple says graphics are up to 30 percent faster and AI tasks up to 25 percent faster than on the M5, and that the Neural Engine is up to 1.9 times faster.
Battery life is the headline figure: Apple quotes up to 24 hours, which it calls the longest ever in a Mac, with the same performance on battery as when plugged in. Memory starts at 16GB and can be raised to 32GB, and the laptop gains Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The rest of the package is familiar: the Liquid Retina XDR display with an optional nano-texture finish, a 12MP Center Stage camera, six speakers and a wide set of ports, including HDMI and an SD card slot. It runs macOS 27 with the new Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features.
Against older machines Apple's numbers grow quickly. It says the M6 model is up to 11 times faster in graphics and up to 13 times faster in AI performance than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1, a common laptop for people thinking about an upgrade. These are Apple's own test results.
The Dh8,499 starting model has 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage. The nano-texture display adds Dh675 to any version, and Apple's store lists higher-memory configurations up to the 32GB model. Prices on Apple's own store include VAT, and authorised resellers in Dubai may price it differently or bundle extras.
If you are buying, pre-orders open tonight at 9.10pm on Apple's UAE website and in the Apple Store app, with deliveries and in-store sales from November 6. If you only need the extra speed for everyday work, the M6 model is the cheapest way into a 14-inch MacBook Pro; heavier video or 3D work is what the M5 Pro and M5 Max versions are for.
