Etihad Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi

Mo Amer, the comedian, writer and actor best known for his Netflix series Mo, plays Etihad Arena on Yas Island on Friday 6 November. Live Nation Middle East presents the show, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Comedy Season.

Amer's stand-up mixes long stories with sharp observations about culture, family and everyday life, and the series Mo, which he co-created and stars in, made him one of the better known comedians of recent years. His arena date comes in a busy run of comedy on Yas Island this autumn: the season opened on 11 October, and the arena has already named Maz Jobrani, Russell Peters and several other comics among its acts.

This is a phone-free show. After the security check, every phone, smartwatch, earbud and camera is locked in its own pouch, which the guest keeps but cannot open in the hall. There are marked areas inside the venue where phones can be unlocked and used, and they must be locked again before leaving those areas. Anyone seen using a device during the show will be walked out. Taking photos or video is not allowed at any point.

Entry is for ages 16 and over only, and guests aged 16 to 20 must come with an adult aged 21 or over. Seats including VAT are Dh325 for lower bowl bronze, Dh435 for lower bowl silver and Dh545 for lower bowl gold, with floor seats at Dh545 for bronze, Dh655 for silver and Dh765 for gold. The arena also sells hospitality suites and loges.

Doors open two hours before the show, which leaves time to lock phones away before it starts. There is no re-entry, bags must be smaller than 30 by 30 by 15cm and there is no cloakroom, and payments inside are contactless only. The start time is shown on the ticket page, and tickets are sold on the Etihad Arena website; accessible seats are booked through the concierge team on 600 511 115.
