Tesla opens UAE reservations for the new Roadster, from Dh210,000
Buyers in the UAE can now reserve the Roadster Performance for Dh210,000 or the Thrust for Dh1.02 million, but Tesla gives no delivery date or final price.
Tesla has opened reservations in the UAE for its new Roadster, a week after Elon Musk showed the car in Texas, Khaleej Times reported. The reservation page on Tesla's UAE website lists two versions that anyone can book and a third that is by invitation only.
The Roadster Performance, which Tesla calls road ready, has a reservation amount of Dh210,000. The Thrust, a limited version with rear thrusters that Tesla says take it from 0 to 100km/h in under one second, needs Dh1.02 million. The Rocket, a single-seater with a full flight system that Tesla says is not approved for public roads, is marked Invite Only, with no amount listed.
These are reservation amounts, not prices. Tesla says it is still working on the car's options, features and hardware, so it cannot confirm what the Roadster will cost, and its reservation agreement promises no delivery date. Musk has said production will start in 2028.
If you want one: reserve on Tesla's UAE website under Vehicles, with the Reserve Now button. You pay Dh20,000 first, which Tesla says is fully refundable, then the rest (Dh190,000 for the Performance, Dh1 million for the Thrust) within 10 days. Only one reservation is allowed per customer, it counts only once the full amount is paid and confirmed by email, and the money is taken off the final price if you go on to buy.
