UAE weather: afternoon rain chances and morning fog until Thursday

The National Center of Meteorology's five-day forecast shows the same pattern every day this week: humid mornings with fog or mist in coastal and inland areas, then convective clouds building in the afternoon that may bring rain.

On Sunday the rain chance is mainly in the east. From Monday to Wednesday the clouds are expected to spread inland and to the west, and on Thursday the showers are expected mainly in western areas. Winds blow from the southeast, turning northwest, at 10 to 25 km/h, with gusts of about 50 km/h near clouds that can raise dust. The sea is slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

If you drive early, allow extra time: fog can cut visibility on the main roads before 9am, so keep your distance and use low beams, not hazard lights, while moving. Afternoon storms can bring sudden dust, so check the NCM app or website before a desert trip or a day on the water, and keep away from wadis when it rains in the east.
